    Here’s what’s easily the biggest release of the coming week in Sleigh Bells’ sophomore album, Reign of Terror. Among other things, such as whether or not they’ll garner more mainstream love, we’re interested to hear how the noise-loving beat-driven duo has progressed on this project.

    Band Of Skulls: Sweet And Sour at Spinner

    British rockers Band of Skulls embraced the grit, grime, and fuzz that was left over from their performance at Bonnaroo last year and threw it all over their sophomore full-length, Sweet and Sour.

    Cursive’s seventh studio album, I Am Gemini, is a concept record powered by post-punk and a story based on twins Cassius and Pollock who were separated at birth.

    Singer-songwriter Damien Jurado returns with Maraqopa, his tenth studio album and first since 2010’s acclaimed Saint Bartlett. Like its predecessor, this album, too, was produced by Richard Swift.

    Three years after winning the Mercury Prize with her Speech Therapy debut, deft U.K. rapper Speech Debelle returns with her sophomore album, Freedom of Speech.

    Tindersticks: The Something Rain at 3VOOR12

    British rockers Tindersticks’ new album, The Something Rain, is one heavily steeped in lyrical narratives and even looks back to their 1995 self-titled album on opening track “Chocolate.”

    Bonobo: Black Sands Remixed at 3VOOR12

    Bonobo’s fantastic 2010 album, Black Sands, gets the proper remix treatment here on the aptly titled Black Sands Remixed. It features reworks from the likes of Machinedrum, Mike Slott, FaltyDL, and Mark Pritchard.

    Busdriver: Beaus&Eros at Spinner

    Beaus$Eros marks a first for L.A. rapper Busdriver as he worked with just one producer for the entire project. The album, which is his first solo outing since 2009’s Jhelli Beam, features electro-boom-bap beats from Belgian producer Loden.

    Shortcircles is Matt Tammariello, a West Coast multi-instrumentalist who just inked a deal with Plug Research. The Shortcircles EP is his first release since joining the label and it blends sample-based boom-bap, ethereal soundscapes, and other genres into an individual statement.
