Stream Martin Crane “Physical Therapy”

    New York singer-songwriter Martin Crane, best known as guitarist for the folky trio Brazos, has just premiered a solo single that trades in acoustic constraint for a lush, funky, all-inclusive dance party. Propelled by a jutting sax riff, “Physical Therapy” combines elements of ’80s postcolonial pop with modern production staples and frills, which makes it sound like it could’ve been penned by Dev Hynes. Still, it couldn’t have; Crane is a lyricist as much as he is a musician/producer, and his elaborately poetic style shines through, ultimately giving the song a darker, reflective edge.

    “Physical Therapy” comes ahead of the songwriter’s debut solo LP under the same title, out via INSCAPE on November 20. Stream the song below:
