Green Day have had to cancel their lengthy tour due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's substance abuse treatment, but their trilogy of albums keeps rolling along. On Nov. 13, Warner Bros will release ¡Dos!, the second album of the trilogy and Green Day's second 2012 release.
¡Uno! found the band returning to their pop-punk routes with forays into power-pop and arena rock, and the new one continues in that genre-hopping direction. Opener "See You Tonight" is an unabashed, if surprising, ode to Big Star, featuring Armstrong alone on guitar, and the rest of the record sounds just as remarkably intimate. Of course, the songs are filled to the brim with hooks, but even with a trio of albums, Green Day seem to have scaled back some of their more recent excesses. Stream the whole album below.
