It's been 12 years since Everything But the Girl released their tenth album, Temperamental, which may not be their last. As Pitchfork reports, the British electronic duo got back together in 2009 to record a cover of the xx's "Night Time." It was intended to be a part of a remix compilation of tracks of the xx's self-titled debut.
But the release never came together and Everything But the Girl's Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt were forced to sit on their take on "Night Time." No longer. Thorn has placed the cover on her upcoming Night Time EP, which drops Nov. 1 on Merge. Watt, who provides guitars and back-up vocals on the cover, will release the EP on vinyl through his Buzzin' Fly imprint. You can stream Everything But the Girl's take on "Night Time" below.
