For all the talk of "supergroup," Divine Fits is honestly just a really great band. The project allows Britt Daniel of Spoon and Dan Boeckner of Wolf Parade to trade ideas like a couple of giddy teenagers relishing their practice time in the garage. A Thing Called Divine Fits is full of songs that build off each of the band members' individual strengths, while pushing their skills that much further.
And now you can hear the album for yourself. NPR has a stream of A Thing Called Divine Fits ahead of its August 28 release date (via Merge). It's a chugging, sparkling thing, and it'll be interesting to hear how it stacks up to the musicians' own respective discographies. Take a listen here.
