In our recent interview with Chelsea Wolfe, she hit out on her past, stating that her first foray into acoustic music was with a "shitty singer-songwriter breakup album" that she wrote when she was 21.
Her upcoming Unknown Rooms is indeed acoustic, but shitty singer-songwriter breakup album it is not. Wolfe is attuned to dark gothic tones, usually with industrial-style loops shuffling in and out. But on Unknown Rooms, she lets her deep, resonating guitar carry much of the sinister load while her voice floats like a ghost on top.
The album comes out Oct. 16 via Sargent House, but you can stream the whole thing below--just in time for Halloween. [Brookyln Vegan]
