Update #2: So it turns out that Madlib was never involved with UCLA, his "joint" mixtape with Blu. That's what Pitchfork was told by Madlib's label, Stones Throw. Jeez.
Update: It appears that the project has been pulled from Blu's Bandcamp page. Hmm, maybe Blu pulled the trigger too early uploading it? We'll see.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Previously we had heard rumblings of the fact that Blu had recorded an entire album over Madlib production. But did we think it was going to drop out of nowhere? Well, sort of, especially considering Blu's second album with Exile, Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them, appeared online in mid-December.
Not only that, but the Los Angeles rapper kind of just does things on his own terms these days via his Bandcamp page. That's where he uploaded his joint Madlib project, UCLA, which is just as blunted, left-field, and great as you can imagine. Stream it below and buy it on Bandcamp. [PIMB]
