Interpol’s Paul Banks already has an EP out this year called Julian Plenti Lives…,but his first solo album under his own name, titled Banks, comes Oct. 23 via Matador. We’ve already heard the dark shuffling track “The Base,” and now you can stream the entirety of Banks below. Here’s what Banks himself has to say about his solo work (via an interview with Drowned In Sound):
When I was on the road with Interpol for the last two years I took my laptop and any downtime I had was spent working on music. I’ve always written music. It’s just that nobody ever got to hear any of it until I finally came to put out that first record… It was like a nirvana, that was the gates opening, and now I’ll always make records.
