I was simply going to recap another Billboard post about old and new Mercury Rev offerings until I headed over to their website and found a treasure trove of goodness. There's a heading entitled "Vibration" that can be clicked. I feared it would be a rant from Jonathan Donohue about a harmonious spirit that rules the universe. Wrong. Turns out to be an interactive jukebox that allows you to listen to songs from numerous Mercury Rev albums. (You'll need Flash, but who doesn't have that at this point?) Included are the recently-released retrospective The Essential Mercury Rev and the band's soundtrack to the French film Bye Bye Blackbird. There's also the entirety of Secret Migration, All is Dream, arguable career highlight Deserter's Songs, and older works like Yerself is Steam and See You on the Other Side. No Bronx Cheer, unfortunately. That puppy's hella hard to find.Damn, I forgot how hair-raisingly great a song "Holes" is.
