Steven Tyler Wanted To Front Led Zeppelin Reunion, Obliterate Any Shred Of Dignity

There really is nothing as catty as an aging guitar player and hot sauce magnate. Now that Steven Tyler is on the outs with Aerosmith, Joe Perry is hanging out all the dirty laundry. One of the juiciest bits is that Perry wanted to front a 2008 Led Zeppelin reunion, but failed the audition after a few “shambolic” rehearsals that found Tyler to be unfamiliar with Zeppelin’s catalog and under the impression that the group would be working on new material. That, apparently, is where Jimmy Page differs from Steven Tyler: He realizes that if you’re in a huge band, it would probably be tantamount to lunacy to walk away from what made you famous.
