Steve Aoki is a pillar of Los Angeles' hipster music scene. He's behind Dim Mak Records, the label home to Whitey, Foreign Born, and the Rakes, among others. Aoki regularly puts in star-studded DJ sets at venues like Cinespace. And he has a project called Weird Science he does with main Moving Unit Blake Miller. Now Aoki is set to release his first mix album, Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles, October 27 on Thrive/Dim Mak. The album finds Aoki having his way with songs from Justice, the Klaxons, Peaches, Bloc Party, and Datarock while getting guest vocal help from the likes of the guys from Spank Rock, Har Mar Superstar, Kid Sister, Mickey Avalon, the Faint's Todd Fink, and Hot Hot Heat's Steve Bays.
