Barely a week after doing a bit on his radio show that spliced parts of her autobiography together in various racist and sexually explicit ways, Howard Stern is now seeking to make nice with country diva Dolly Parton. After the singer threatened a hefty lawsuit in response to Stern’s comedy, the radio host said that he actually likes Dolly, and respects that Parton “has had a long career and been hot the whole time.” Stern went on to say that despite Parton’s promises, his bit was a parody and she had no recourse to sue. Though Stern may be correct from a legal standpoint, he might want to remember that in addition to being a female country singer from the seventies turned business mogul and having close associations with both Burt Reynolds and Kenny Rogers, Parton has the resources of her small country, Dollywood, to help carry out her eventual revenge. A legal payout may be the least of Stern’s worries. [NY Post]
