Stephen Malkmus this Friday morning made an appearance on a show you've probably never heard of (unless you're regularly wide awake at 3 a.m. and are a Fox News Channel fan).  It's called "Red Eye," essentially a lighthearted non-political show, with host Greg Gutfield who's apparently a Pavement/Malkmus fan, even though he doesn't know what a Jick is. "You should buy it or die," Gutfield says of Real Emotional Trash.

Malk is his regular funny mellow self in this six-minute interview via satellite. He touches upon his work on the Dylan bio I'm Not There and how he finds it strange that Blender put Slanted and Enchanted above anything by the Velvet Underground on its list of 100 Greatest Indie Rock Albums Ever.
