A few months ago, Starbucks announced they would no longer be foraying into label ownership, and sold off their label. Now the coffee giant has announced that by September, they will have eliminated almost all of the floor space devoted to CD’s in their stores. Reportedly, each store will only offer four “slots” (whatever that means) of CD’s available for sale. That means you can no longer get Duffy’s CD with your morning latte. Oh the humanity.
This spells bad news for the music industry, because despite limited sales, Starbucks claimed they were moving more than 4 million albums a year. [Silicon Alley Insider]

Didn't expect this, but I agree that they probably didn't need to devote so much space to CDs.
