A while ago, it was announced that David Byrne and St. Vincent's Annie Clark were working on a joint album--inspired by Bjork and Dirty Projectors' joint project--that would find the two of them writing songs together. Clark has a lot of other stuff on her plate right now, obviously (her Strange Mercy is due out on Sept. 13), but in an interview with Pitchfork, Clark said her and Byrne plan to finish the album up by early next year, and release it sometime in 2012.
"We’ve written a good deal of a record together and recorded about half of it," said Clark. "It’s very split down the middle between who writes lyrics and who sings and who came to the other with the first musical idea, it's very much egalitarian in that way, but natural. I think we'll probably finish it up by early next year and then put it out."
If this actually comes out, it will leap to the top of our list for most anticipated albums for 2012. But we're still skeptical that this will happen. But here's hoping, guys. [P4K]
