For the second time in three years, Spin has chosen a TV on the Radio album as its album of the year. That's not that surprising, considering plenty of magazines have chosen Dear Science as their album of the year (and you guys seem to dig the album in your year-end lists too), but what is surprising is that the Coldplay album somehow found its way into Spin's Top Ten. Seriously, Spin, you know how I know you're gay?
Overall though, Spin's Top 40 Albums of 2008 list is pretty well balanced-- a couple hip-hop albums, a few blog-hypes, and old stand-bys like Nick Cave, Beck, and R.E.M. That's not to say there aren't a few head-scratchers (Black Kids? Kings of Leon, Kate Nash and Duffy?? Guns N' Roses???), but overall it's less beholden to sacred cows than Rolling Stone's list from yesterday.

Not too bad
Pretty much what I expected from Spin. I'm only confused as to why Kate Nash is on there. Nothing against the album, because I personally LOVED it. But that stuff was released in like September '07.
Kinda confused on the Nas mixtape.....does that make it better than the album????? And props to Weezey....I kinda expected that tho seeing as he is EVERYWHERE lol
