Remember that Spider-Man musical that features music from U2 that is supposed to start playing next year? It turns out it might not be happening, unless the producers can come up with more money, as production has been halted this week. The producers are confident that the show will be able to go at its expected Feb. 25 premiere, and it should make a lot of money once it hits theaters, but Marvel's money has been shrinking (its profits are down big this year because it doesn't have a movie out), as the production costs have been soaring thanks to the technically demanding stage show. As of right now, the show is still set to go on with a cast of Evan Rachel Wood as Mary Jane and Alan Cumming as the Green Goblin, but no one has been announced as Spider-Man. [Variety]
