The recent team-up of Spank Rock and Benny Blanco that pays homage to 2 Live Crew by sampling tracks by the legendary X-rated rappers brought back some funny memories. In the middle school days, my friends and I got into rap music that forced us to hide cassettes from our parents. The album I was most scared of my parents finding was 2 Live Crew's As Nasty As They Wanna Be. My mom would've freaked out if she saw the album cover, with the four butts in thongs. My friend who lent me the tape would also go bonkers -- he had to pay his older brother to get it for us because they weren't selling this album to kids under eighteen.
Although it's not quite as raunchy as 2 Live Crew (then again, who is?), Spank Rock and Benny Blanco give a proper tribute in their second single off their Bangers & Cash EP.
