The next part of the Michael Jackson profiteering extravaganza will be a concert film titled This Is It. The film, which will be released on October 30, is being made with the full support of Jackson's estate. It will be culled from hundreds of hours of rehearsal and behind the scenes footage recorded as Jackson prepared for his concert series in London. In addition to the Jackson footage, a part of which will be in 3-D, This Is It will also offer a retrospective of Jackson's career and feature interviews with his friends and collaborators. The estate's share of the proceeds will go to the Michael Jackson Family Trust, an entity established in Jackson's will to receive his earnings. The full press release is available here.
