Sonic Youth Reschedule West Coast Tour

The members of Sonic Youth have recently been busy promoting their album, The Eternal. They even found time to appear in a forthcoming episode of Gossip Girl, where they performed a version of their classic song, “Starpower.” Unfortunately Sonic Youth's future plans have hit a snag after Lee Ranaldo fractured his wrist playing tennis.

The injury to Ranaldo has forced the band to cancel a number of dates on their west coast tour, with many of them now rescheduled for January 2010. Two of the dates, which were set for Santa Barbara on Sept. 26 and Austin on Oct. 4, will not be part of the newly formed tour.

The new dates are as follows:

01.05 Phoenix, AZ: Marquee Theater

01.07 San Diego, CA: House of Blues

01.08 Pomona, CA: Fox Theater

01.09 Los Angeles, CA: The Wiltern
