Songbird 0.2 was just recently released. I used the 0.1 version and it didn't cause my computer to explode, so you've a good chance of avoiding injury by using this beta software. They've also provided a movie demo of the features. Be sure to watch until the end when the presenter goes mildly insane with power.

Something about the layout and interface of this program looks vaguely familiar. Where have I seen this before...? |

It's pretty good, but slows down after a few minutes. And if you dont save the files to your computer, and just keep the location as the site its streaming from, your song could go away if the link becomes invalid. |

Borrowing from Apple design - it's not just for Microsoft any more. Open source can do it too! There's skins available for Songbird too, so you can make it somewhat less iTunes-ish. May as well start with what people are familiar with I guess. |

i really dont mind the itunes interface. you could say the same about mozilla/firefox stealing the netscape design. i dont see the big deal. |

I do like the idea of combining an RSS client with an iTunes style interface. If Apple is smart, they should considerripping off this idea from Songbird! |

i love it, but its still too glitchy for everyday use. it doesnt play so nice with large music libraries.
