First off, you've gotta love a band with a palindromic name. That said, So Many Dynamos, who released their first EP in 2003, and have industriously assembled two full-length albums since then, will be releasing their third, The Loud Wars, under the auspices of Vagrant Records. While the label was formerly known for its pronounced emo slant, recent years have seen them moving in different directions, and So Many Dynamos' quirky, idiosyncratic blend of noisy skronk, eccentric art-pop, and serpentine math-rock represents yet another string to Vagrant's bow. Produced by Chris Walla, who has helmed albums by everyone from Hot Hot Heat to The Decemberists, The Loud Wars is set for an April 7 release. In the meantime, those lovable palindromists can be found bopping around on the East Coast this month on tour with Ra Ra Riot.
