Alec Baldwin was the guest on this week's SNL, and while Baldwin has had some great performances on the show in the past, the producers opted to devote a lot of the show to the Muppet babies we call the Jonas Brothers. First the group popped up in a digital short that featured Andy Samberg outing the group as former hair rockers. Then there was a skit that featured Alec Baldwin and the Jonas Brothers having a contest to see who could read off of a teleprompter the worst.
But that wasn't enough--the Jonas Brothers performed two of their songs on the show as well. The tepid pop-punky "Tonight" is above, and "Video Girl" (which features video of the Jonas that looks like a girl having a seizure onstage) is below.
I can get why SNL would book the Jonases on their show--they are one of the bigger pop acts around today. But given the guys' wholesome image, and the fact that their fanbase's average age is about eight, isn't it rather unlikely that the band would be able to provide any kind of ratings bump? And to couple them with Alec Baldwin is kind of suspect too, since the people tuning in specifically for Baldwin are not likely Jonas Brothers fans. It's just an unlikely booking, and one that didn't lead to results that anyone would really call "funny" or "exciting." [Idolator]

I say whatever! I used to waste breath making a big deal out of these kids whenever i heard about them. But then i saw that video of them with Stevie Wonder, and it finally hit me. WHO CARES! Apparently Stevie Wonder doesn't. He'll do whatever he wants and give his voice to anything he sees fit. So why should i care. Take a walk down the road of ultra sucessful pop music acts and it may read something like this:
Jonas Brothers
Mylie Cyrus
Hiillary Duff
Insync
Backstreet Boys
Vanilla Ice
New Kids on the Block
Hammer
New Edition
Menudo
Lief Garrett
David Cassidy
The Monkees
Bobby Darin
The Everly Brothers
