Two new cast members have been announced for the upcoming season of Saturday Night Live.
Deadline confirmed a rumor from the Comic’s Comic blog that SNL producer Lorne Michaels hired Chicago-based performers Aidy Bryant and Tim Robinson. Bryant and Robinson will be appearing on the show’s upcoming 38th season. The first episode with these new cast members is set to air on Sept 15 with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane hosting and musical guest Frank Ocean.
SNL is losing several cast members like Kristen Wiig, Andy Samburg and Abby Elliot. Plus, it is speculated that Jason Sudekis making an exit soon, so the news of Michaels adding cast members is not surprising. Bryant and Robinson are both alums from Second City, the legendary Chicago improv theater that has launched the careers of several SNL cast members. Robinson previously created a pilot for an unproduced Comedy Central series titled My Mans.
