Saturday Night Live has had something of a renaissance of late with Tina Fey returning to portray veep candidate Sarah Palin. Lest one think that all their social criticism is that biting, hip, and funny, they also did this little bit on Katy Perry that accomplished nothing other than making me swear off Twix forever. Two minutes worth of Opera Man would have been a better waste of my viewing experience. [Perez Hilton]
Yeah, I watched it on Saturday night and I thought it was a weak attempt at something that's been beaten to death. Hell, even MadTV beat them to the punch.
I gotta say, I AM a fan, and that lacked the funny.

the show has been just awful lately. but i thought that was the second funniest sketch of the night (after mark wahlberg talks to animals). i changed my facebook status to "I saw a boat and I liked it." i was also severely amused by the line "but we didn't do any gay stuff."
This was just a piece of filler thrown in after the second performance because the episode ran a bit short. Personally, I disagree that the show's been bad lately and think that there's a lot of great stuff going on. The problem is that the writing has gone heavily towards meta-jokes and winking at the fourth wall and a lot people just plain don't respond to that. I'm still a big fan though.
