Via: NMESo, unless this turns out to be the hoax of the century, it seems like the only original Smashing Pumpkins taking part in this "reunion" album will be Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin. After months of speculation, due to Corgan conveniently not clarifying who exactly would be in the group beyond Jimmy, the band's manager Paul Geary made it pretty clear in a recent interview what the status was for James Iha and D'Arcy Wretzky:
"Billy's making a great record, and for the sake of a younger generation that he wants to turn on to the band's music, he is doing it with a band that will more faithfully recreate the old songs than ever before."
Just who the members of this "band" are, of course, remains a mystery.

Weren't the Smashing Pumpkins essentially Billy's band anyway? Jimmy, in my opinion, was the only irreplaceable non-Billy element in the Pumpkins. It pains me to say this, due to Iha's work on APC's tour and D'Arcy's work since the Pumpkins, but Billy is fine without them. He DID writer and play most of the instruments of Siamese Dream. All Iha and D'Arcy had to do was replicate the sound.
