Smashing Pumpkins Sign To EMI For ‘Oceania’ Release

When Billy Corgan isn’t making headlines for his grumpy quotables, he’s working on ways to releasing the Smashing Pumpkins’ complicated new album, Oceania. He’s finally found a home for the project in EMI, which you might remember reissued earlier works from the band last year. They’ll be putting out some new material from the Pumpkins on July 19, when Oceania finally drops. Here’s what EMI’s Mike Harris had to say about the deal via CoS:

“We are thrilled to extend the long-term partnership between The Smashing Pumpkins and EMI with the release of Oceania. Everybody at EMI Label Services is looking forward to working closely with Billy and the band to help them deliver their vision and their music to fans around the world.”
