The Billy Corgan/Jimmy Chamberlain/unknown others incarnation that we're calling Smashing Pumpkins continue to announce festival appearances. Still none in the U.S. though. They must really hate Bush. Could they possibly be waiting until '09 to appear in the States?Where they will appear in early September is at Montreal's Osheaga Festival. Joining the Pumpkins in the first batch of bands to be announced for the fest are Amy Winehouse, Stars, Placebo, Peter Bjorn and John, the Sam Roberts Band, Paolo Nutini, Au Revoir Simone, Peter von Poehl, Adam Kesher, and Xavier Cafeine. Head to the fest's official site for all the details and ticket info.

a small amendment to this line, "Still none in the U.S. though." The Smashing Pumpkins have confirmed as a headliner for the Virgin Festival in Baltimore, on August 5th, along with The Police and Beastie Boys who play the day earlierthe headliners are interesting enough, but if they fill the line-up with the cra they are loading at the Toronto Virgin fest and the V Fest in england, I think i may have to pass, although all it takes is Sonic Youth being added to pay top dollar to endure the Killers or as Lou Barlow put it last night "The Stink of sweat of emos"
