Slayer Still Undecided On When Its New Album Will Make The World a Little More Evil

Nothing says summer like a new album from Slayer, but Kerry King and the boys are making headbangers suffer in the heat until “late summer.” The bearded guitarist did say the new album will be called World Painted Blood and marks the first time the band wrote a significant amount of material in the studio. Slayer, working on the recommendation of previous producer Rick Rubin, recruited Greg Fidelman. In addition to adapting the to their producer’s looser recording environment, King said that this album would be marked by fellow guitarist Jeff Hanneman’s more punk sound. The release date will most likely be announced shortly, so it would be prudent to keep a black shirt in reserve for the near future. [Billboard]
