We’ve all seen the “value-added” packages that record labels scramble to assemble to make the purchase of albums more appealing to consumers. All hail Slayer for one-upping Metallica's four bonus-gilded versions of Death Magnetic and creating a value-added concert. For the upcoming European leg of their Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter III, Slayer will give every ticket-holding fan a limited edition clothing patch and a download card allowing access to all sorts of gratis digital goodies from Slayer and its Unholy Alliance tourmates, Trivium, Amon Amarth and Mastodon.

The free download package will include the first song that Slayer has released from their unfinished next album, due out in 2009, one track each from the new albums by Trivium and Amon Amarth, and a behind-the-scenes look into the making of Mastodon’s new album. Also included is live footage from Slayer’s 2007 San Diego Sports Arena show.

No word yet on whether the generosity of Slayer and friends will extend to the North American leg of the Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter III, so this might be the time to take that trip to Antwerp you've been considering for so long.
