Cerulean has already been used as a title in recent memory—by the glitch-heavy Baths in 2010. But now Simian Mobile Disco has borrowed the title, for a track from the upcoming Unpatterns, which is scheduled for release in late May. We already heard a brief clip of that record in the form of "Seraphim,” but “Cerulean” gave a better idea of how it will sound after it debuted on Pete Tong’s Radio 1 show. In an odd move, the band had uploaded a clip from Tong’s broadcast to its Soundcloud page, which you can check out via this link. It’s a low-key way to usher in Unpatterns, with plenty of buttery analog synth sounds building as the song gradually picks up its groove over a five-minute expanse of time. [via AHIAS]
