’90s buzz rock revivalists Silversun Pickups are returning this May with a new album. On May 8, they release Neck of the Woods, their third LP, and first since 2009’s Swoon. Silversun Pickups aren’t as huge as they were circa 2006’s Carnavas, but they’re still the most popular band trying to resuscitate the dead body of the Smashing Pumpkins.
Neck of the Woods was recorded with super producer Jacknife Lee, who has helmed albums by R.E.M. and U2. The band ran into Lee when recording backing vocals on a Snow Patrol album, and he lended his services to them too. [CoS]
