A decade on from their formation, and after countless name variations have come and gone (Do you recall Thee SIlver Mt. Zion Reveries? Oh, the memories!), Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra (the "& Tra-La-La Band" has disappeared from the end of their name) are preparing to launch their sixth proper full-length. Kollaps Tradixionales will be released by venerable Montreal label Constellation on Feb. 16.
The album follows 2008's 13 Blues For 13 Moons and the group's transformation into a quintet with a new drummer. The material was road-tested on an extensive European in fall of last year, and promises another uncategorizable mix of blues and balladry against an epic instrumental background. The record will be available in a variety of formats including deluxe CD and a 2x10" vinyl configuration and includes two songs titled "Kollapz Tradixional," albeit with different spellings. Head over to the groups official site to hear "Kollaps Tradicional (Bury 3 Dynamos)."
