The formerly road shy David Berman and his Silver Jews have proved that the bout of touring undertaken to support their last record, Tanglewood Numbers, wasn’t a unique event. The release of Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea will be promoted by another tour from the band, which will coincide with the DVD release of a documentary about the band titled Silver Jew.
The movie follows Berman and the group as they arrive in Israel for a few dates to support the release of Tanglewood Numbers. Director Michael Tully told NME: “We simply hoped to capture the band's experience in Israel as intimately and honestly as possible. I figured that if we did that, we would have something worthwhile on our hands.”
