Sigur Rós Record Song For "Game Of Thrones"

Along with making an appearence in the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, Sigur Rós will be releasing a cover of "The Rains of Castamere," as part of the shows soundtrack.

The song has already been performed by The National (which you can hear below), and was used in the second season of the show. While you can listen to a sample of the Sigur Rós cover over at Amazon, it won't be until the full version is made available on April 13 that comparisons will be fair. Just the difference between vocals is enough to make things interesting though.

Game of Thrones has been using music a lot in the lead up to this weekends season premier, as they released a mixtape in early March that featured the likes of Big Boi, Common and Wale.
