If the recent return of Spiritualized from hibernation has you yearning for more space rock, you might want to look into Sian Alice Group. The British band, which has opened for Spiritualized at some recent European shows, is slated to release its debut full-length, 59.59, February 19 via the Social Registry. The band recorded most of the album this summer in its own London studio, with multi-instrumentalist member Rupert Clerveaux handling most of the production work. (He does the same for Spring Heel Jack.) Guests such as John Coxon, who has played with Spiritualized, and Brian DeGraw of Gang Gang Dance helped Sian Alice Group finish up 59.59. The album's title is a nod to its running length.
