Shugo Tokumaru seems to be embarking on an American coming out party of sorts. This weekend in Chicago he's playing his first ever US show at the Adventures in Modern Music Festival, and exactly ten days later in New York he'll collab with members of Beirut, The National, and So Percussion on a set at the Mercury Lounge. Then he's going to open a show for Beach House, play some solo dates, and then open for Magnetic Fields for four dates on their tour. It would be reasonable to presume that this is all in support of Tokumaru's gorgeous LP Exit, but maybe he just want to hang out with a bunch of cool kids, and like, be really popular.
