Via Brooklyn Vegan: Anybody out there still up for debating what the best music of 2006 was? Anybody? [Crickets chirping.] If so, here are the finalists for the 2006 Shortlist Prize: 1) Band of Horses 2) Beirut 3) Bonnie Prince Billy 4) Cat Power 5) Girl Talk 6) Hot Chip 7) Joanna Newsom 8) Regina Spektor 9) Spank Rock 10) Tom Waits
No Ghostface? Shame, bloody, shame. Hot Chip get's my nod, but I can see Band Of Horses winning or Cat Power. Both albums highly over-rated, but good.

Predictably boring round-up of the indie/alternative hipster faves. In response to "Anybody out there still up for debating what the best music of 2006 was? Anybody?" though I never posted my fave albums of last year so maybe I should get on that before memorial day weekend arrives - LOL!
