It seems like the Drive-By Truckers are back to being a constantly shifting entity, as longtime bassist Shonna Tucker has announced that she is leaving the band. It seems like it was amicable:
"It's time for me to move on to the next great thing, whatever that may be," she wrote. "I am, without a doubt, not done. I will have a website up and running very soon so that we can keep in touch. I have a whole lot left to say and do, and I can't wait to hear what all of you are up to."
Tucker joined the group in 2003, along with her then-husband Jason Isbell, who left the group a few years ago. Tucker was with the band as they went from regional curiosity to touring war horse. Go here to read the band's full statement about Tucker's departure.
