You've got to love how Shellac's Steve Albini, Bob Weston, and Todd Trainer have shown a dedication to touring after years of sporadic performances. From opening for the Stooges in Chicago (and organizing Ian MacKaye's Evens concert in Chi-town), the band has been as busy as ever in the last couple of years. Albini hasn't been this prolific a performer since at least his days with the Big Black, even as his Electrical Audio engineering keeps churning out excellent results. In any event, here's Shellac's dates for the fall.
09.15 Pontiac, MI: Crofoot
09.16 Toronto, Ontario: Horseshoe
09.17 Montreal, Quebec: La Sala Rossa
09.18 Montreal, Quebec: La Sala Rossa
09.21 Catskills, NY: ATP New York
10.27 Galway, Ireland: Roisin Dubh
10.28 Dublin, Ireland: Button Factory
10.31 London, England: Forum (Release the Bats ATP)
11.02 Glasgow, Scotland: ABC
Chris Brokaw will be opening for the first three dates, and A Place to Bury Strangers will also be there for the first date in Montreal. Wonder if Chicago's music scene loses its edge when Albini's not there, just like America loses its hope and good vibes when Obama is overseas.
