She & Him's sophomore album, Volume Two, has defied modest expectations and landed at number six on the Billboard Top 200 album charts this week, selling 47,000 copies. That bests the band's top selling week by nearly fivefold, as the best week for Volume One had only 10,000 copies in sales.
But She & Him can only take their chart success for a grain of salt, because they got crushed by the insidious teen force known as Justin Bieber, as his debut long-player, My World 2.0, moved 283,000 copies, six times as many copies as Volume Two. Apparently the doe-eyed chick people were buying records from last week wasn't Zooey Deschanel. It was Justin Bieber. [Billboard]
