“The Big Sombrero” is already being thrown around as a new nickname for Shaquille O’Neal, who is reportedly in talks to join Fuerza Regia of the Mexican Basketball League for a couple of games this October. The signing would be the latest in a string of stunt additions to the team- 7’9″ Chinese player Sun Ming Ming and Dennis Rodman have suited up at different times. Shaq has been silent about the possibity thus far, but has done some charity work in the Monterrey area. Given that he made $292 million in contract earnings alone during his career, this probably isn’t a move he’s considering for money. Rather, as it was during his career, the big man is seeking another stage to dominate and a new crowd of fans to win over. Vaya con Dios, Shaq. [In Flex We Trust]
