SF’s Outside Lands Festival Announces Line-Up

San Francisco music lovers rejoice, The Outside Lands Music Festival lineup has finally been announced. Pairing down to two dates as opposed to previous three, third annual Outside Lands Music Festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park will take place on August 14 – 15, with tickets going on sale Wednesday, June 2^nd at 10 AM, PST. In addition to headliners Kings of Leon, The Strokes, My Morning Jacket, Phoenix, and R&B legend Al Green, the festival also boasts the 19-years-in-the-making reunion of San Francisco-based Grateful Dead band members Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, who are now touring as part of their latest outfit, Further. No strangers to Golden Gate Park, Weir and Lesh played a series of psychedelic, spiral-eyed, and, best of all, free weekly shows as The Grateful Dead throughout the Sixties and Seventies to crowds even more eclectic than the band, and that’s saying a great deal.

Beyond the headliners, Outside Lands will be joined by a stellar roster including (but not limited to) Wild Beasts, Aussie hard-rock group Wolfmother, punk gods Social Distortion, Levon Helm formally of The Band, Gypsy Punk must-sees Gogol Bordello, and, in a rare appearance, Australian electronic duo Empire Of The Sun.
