In March, Seydisfjordur, Iceland, essentially said, "Pimp our ride!" to Sony by allowing the music conglomerate to install hordes of speakers around the small town. "Sony Soundville," as it was called, existed for a week and played music from Bob Dylan, Death in Vegas, and the Guillemots. No word on how much cash the town made, or if there was a curfew for the music (lights off at 10 p.m.?), but if it was on around the clock, there are surely a few more village crazies wandering around Seydisfjordur. why did sony do this? is this for a commercial or something?
Apparently it was just to make this little film and promote the brand as the ultimate in quality sound. Not that great of a promotion since it's taken half a year for the news to pop up in the U.S.
