Roughly a week after finishing his stint with Spain's silver-medal-winning team at the Olympics, Serge Ibaka has signed a four-year, $48 million contract extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the other runner-up team he plays for. Though Thunder GM Sam Presti did not provide specifics in his announcement of the signing earlier today, Yahoo!'s ubiquitous Adrian Wojnarowski has confirmed the aforementioned figures.
This summer is the first time both Ibaka, 22, and his Thunder teammate James Harden have been able to extend their rookie contracts (both players are entering their fourth year in the NBA). The Thunder's two biggest stars, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, are currently locked into long-term contracts and won't be leaving OKC anytime soon.
