
After widespread protests this week, and increased coverage from TV news, which until now hadn't taken much interest in it, the Senate has officially postponed Tuesday's upcoming vote on Protect I.P. Act (aka PIPA). Nevada Senator Harry Reid, majority leader, called for the postponement, citing "recent events," which can mean anything really. This follows the House delaying their vote on SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act.
This is only the beginning folks: The bill hasn't been shelved yet. It's still out there, the Senate is just waiting for the heat to go down. Let's not give them the opportunity to sneak this out in a month. [BoingBoing]
