When you get beat up by the big boys, sometimes the only way to deal win a battle is to call in the bigger boys. That's why the music search engine Seeqpod is in final aquisition talks with an Internet biggie like Google or Apple instead of filing for backruptcy after getting beaten down by major label lawsuits.
This is what Seeqpod CEO Kasian Franks recently told Wired anyway. According to Franks, having an owner with more "social capital” will help him navigate the tricky legal terrain of digital copyright law. Although Seeqpod doesn’t host any content and just helps listeners find music streams, that hasn't stopped the labels legal bullying.
