Scott Weiland, frontman for nu-grunge also-rans Stone Temple Pilots (and formerly of nu-hair metal also-rans Velvet Revolver) has announced his sophomore solo album, Happy, is slated for a November release on his own Softdrive album. Legendary producer Steve Albini helmed a handful of songs, and Happy boasts contributions from the three members of No Doubt no one cares about (everyone but Gwen Stefani).
Happy is due out on November 18, and is the follow-up to Weiland’s previous solo record, 12 Bar Blues, which came out in 1998. [Billboard]
