If anyone dislikes my usage of the word "pwn," feel free to object, but I'm at that most depressing place on Earth, the departure gate at the Vegas airport, so I won't care.We reported earlier on the wi-fi Sansa player, the Connect, and although details are still sketchy, we did get some more information. The Connect uses technology from Zing, a company that allows for community sharing and downloading over wireless connections. The "Zune orphan" factor that happens when a Zune user seeks out a fellow Zune user won't be the case with the Connect; it can search over the Internet for fellow users. Assuming they use a similar subscription service, they can download a track you recommend without any of the "3 days or 3 plays" restrictions of the Zune. The Sansa Connect also has an external speaker, for what it's worth.
Microsoft's keynote hyped Vista and Windows gaming, then made some vague statements about connectivity with their devices. They had better spiffy up the wi-fi in the Zune or they'll be left behind by the likes of Apple and Sandisk, holders of the one and two spots in the MP3 business.

Okay Microsoft... lift the 3 business off the Zune now.
