Billboard.com is reporting that concerts in the Southern California region have been canceled or re-scheduled as a result of the raging wildfires affecting the region. So far Live Nation has called off all concerts in the area for the week. A Live Nation spokesperson said, "We will continue to monitor the situation," which i think is code for, "run for your damn life, fool." Some of the larger shows affected by the fires include a J-Lo/Marc Anthony dual headlining gig that was moved to November 10th and the incomparable Peter Frampton who had his House of Blues show for tomorrow night out-and-out canceled.
Glad to know Billboard and Live Nation are monitoring the "concert situation" while houses burn to the ground and even the San Diego Chargers flee to Arizona to practice. If these fires make Shawne Merriman run 250 miles away, you know they've got to be absolutely terrifying. We'll keep you updated on the concert situation and, oh yeah, also our hearts go out to everyone involved and we hope for a safe outcome. Live music first, fiery death and destruction a distant, distant second.
